About Merlin Community Park
The Merlin Community Park in Southern Oregon was established in 1982, as a non-profit organization formed to develop recreational opportunities and community focus, particularly to the Northern Josephine County area. The park features a Picnic Area with Bar B Q Pits, a community center with restroom facilities that are open to all citizens, visitors and tourists. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and overnight camping is not allowed. The Park Board, elected by the residents of the Merlin Community Park District, manage the Park with the help of volunteers and donations from the greater Rogue Valley.
The Merlin Community Park has been developed into a multifaceted recreational site with a playground, horseshoe pits, basketball court, and sports field with baseball diamond. The park is one of the only recreational facilities in the Northern portion of the County, it is commonly used by local families and tourists. The Park is located on the Merlin Road at the junction of Acorn Dr. and is noticeable by its Veterans Walk of Honor which is available for viewing 24 hours a day.
The Veterans Walk of Honor consists of numerous granite monoliths and a memorial recognizing Veterans and first responders with ties to families in Southern Oregon. The families may honor them by engraving their names, rank, and service dates onto these monoliths.
Our mission is to provide a safe place for kids to play and a safe environment for families to gather and recreate.
The Park District is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization and all donations are tax-deductable.
The tax ID#is 93-1034687, and no goods or services are being provided in exchange for the donor's gift.
